Cannot establish a secure connection

Rarely, you may see an alert in the app like this:

We value your privacy and ours and so our iOS apps check for a secure connection between the app and our servers. You will see this message when a secure connection cannot be established.

This may occur on some WiFi networks where the provider is seeking to act as a "man in the middle" between your device and our server. This makes it possible for your traffic and data to be intercepted and so we check for this and prevent any communications from app to server in this circumstance.

If you encounter this warning, you may wish to check the privacy policy of the network to which you're connected. We recommend connecting to an alternative network.
